‘THIS WEEK’S PUB’ is BACK!!!!!
THE WELL AND BUCKET, BETHNAL GREEN ROAD. Lets start with a good one!!!
The Well & Bucket opened in 1818 and closed in 1989, but in 2013 in returns to it renewed old self!
Until a few weeks ago, the premises were occupied by a hideous leather wholesalers that anybody compos mentis would avoid with peril. In a glorious twist of fate, though, the Well & Bucket has reopened and has instantly become one a favorite amongst the East End boozers.
The shop fittings were removed and the walls are covered in old pub tiles. The missing tiles serve as a reminder of the pub’s illustrious history, while eery artwork of Victorian ladies with skulls for faces adds to the pub’s mystical charm.
The pub has one of the largest selection of craft beers in the area with 18 beers on tap!!!
The Well & Bucket offers a satisfying menu for the ‘diversity in fashion’ that is the East London-people! If you’re not in the mood to try their oysters or a bucket of prawns, order some sliders instead. Ginger beer chicken with sesame ‘slaw + chilli and oregano pork belly with pickled cabbage + the good ol’ fashioned cheeseburger with slow roasted tomatoes + craft beer !!!!!!
You’ll find The Well and Bucket at the Shoreditch end of Bethnal Green Road, near Brick Lane, and ps: there’s even a cocktail bar in the cellar. ;-)
Happy drinking good people!! xx
