Every Friday, for the next 11 weeks, at the Sclater Street Car Park in Brick Lane, you can feast up on London’s leading street food trader’s famous chicken skewers, ribs, burritos, hotdogs, burgers, pizzas, tom yum, meatballs, cupcakes and much more!

WHAT A TREAT! 

Sundays in East London are the best! Having breakfast at the Sunday Market in Brick Lane, get your flowers at the Flower Market on Columbia road, and catching up with friends over a beer in your favorite pub, then drop by LILY VANILLI and treat yourself to mouthwatering cupcakes, brownies or some of that naughty absinthe and mint ice cream. 

Just off Columbia Road, you’ll find Lily Vanilli Bakery tucked away in a lovely little courtyard amongst other vintage furniture shops. Space is limited, especially since this gem is only open on Sundays from 8.30am -4pm, but if you haven’t been there yet, I strongly suggest you pay a visit. I’ll guarantee you’ll be satisfied! ;-)

I do love the fact that Lily’s cakes & pastries is anything but you’re standard “girly-cute - stuff”. As you can see from the photos, it is always interesting to see what theme inspired the icing this week.

MARGARITA MAGIC WEDNESDAYS HALF PRICE MARGARITAS EVERY WEDNESDAY at Cantina Laredo.  I personally recommend trying their Casa Rita Margarita with El Jimador 100% Agave Tequila with freshly squeezed lime juice, frozen or ‘On the Rocks - mhmm……… You don’t often come by a really good Mexican restaurant, well at least that’s my experience. That is why I was quite pleased to stumble upon Cantina Laredo, Covent Garden. It will never be exactly the same as eating mexican food in Terrell Texas or Mexico itself. But I found that Cantina Laredo delivers an adventures and tasty selection of dishes, varying from sizzling seafood, spicy classics (tacos, enchiladas, burritos, Fajitas etc) to signature dishes such as Camarones Escondidos  (Grilled chicken breast stuffed with tiger prawns, topped with sautéed spinach and chipolte-wine sauce. Mexican rice and courgette stuffed with spicy vegetables) “Throughout the day, enchiladas are hand-rolled by chefs trained in traditional methods and Cantina Laredo’s trademark Top Shelf Guacamole is prepared at the guest’s table using 100% fresh ingredients.” - which was a nice little extra attention that contributed to an overall lovely Margarita evening! A little bit pricy (not too bad!), but considering it’s location one can’t expect anything else, and I thought the half priced Margaritas made up for it, as well as the charming waiters and the tasty food. If you can walk (MAKIS??) after this weekend then I should not be suggesting parties anymore…


I am torn. There are parties happening all over town this bank holiday weekend. Choosing one doesn’t seem fair. So, I’ve narrowed it down to these. You can now party non stop for two days. If you think you have what it takes then: HAVE FUN GO MAD!
